What happens when you’re the only waitress working the late shift? Do those thoughts ever creep into your head? What if someone were to break in? It’s time for the thrill of your life with Last Straw. The movie hits select theaters and digital outlets on September 20th, 2024 from Shout! Studios. The diner horror flick is the directorial debut for Alan Scott Neal and stars Jessica Belkin, Taylor Kowalski, and Jeremy Sisto. The screenplay comes from Taylor Sardoni and has a score by Alan Palomo.

Here’s the synopsis from Shout! Studios!

A young waitress working the overnight shift alone at a rural, roadside diner finds herself in a fight for her life when she’s terrorized by a group of masked assailants. With no one to turn to, she will do everything she can to survive the night, even if it means striking back.

If you’re in the Los Angeles/Riverside area, the film opens at the Galaxy Mission Grove 18.

Here’s what Alan Scott Neal had to say about the script and the idea for Last Straw.

When I first read the script, I was enthralled by the idea that I’d be able to explore both sides ofa crime. Nancy’s struggles, and her frustration with what is‘traditionally’expected of her, juxtaposed with her assailants’own fears and anxieties truly excited me. This was a chance tocreate dual perspectives and flip the audience on its head nearly as much as we do thecharacter, Nancy, herself.
